40V HP Brushless 18" Chainsaw with 5.0 Ah Battery and Charger
40V HP BRUSHLESS 18" CHAINSAW KIT is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 229.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you want I’m a chainsaw! No hassle. I bought this to replace my gas powered saw that had a piston go out. 2 days later a giant weeping willow fell in my backyard going across my neighbors yard. This saw cut 34” diameter tree into nothing quickly. I have a few other 40v tools so I was able to cycle the batteries and never had an issue running out of power. Love this saw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great on small diameter trees I bought this saw after we had a couple bad storms that knocked down trees and limbs. It does great on 3 to 4 inch limbs and trunks anything bigger and it wears battery down fast. One Sugar Maple about 18 inches in diameter and a fresh battery charged overnight barely makes it through one cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement of Bad battery I purchased this chainsaw a month ago. After attempting to charge the battery that came with the chainsaw it was obvious the battery was bad. I contacted Ryobi via email and after a providing the requested information to them they are replacing the bad battery. I am very satisfied with the customer service. Thank you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery Sucks: takes over 4 hours for a recharge Ryobi is my tool of choice. Purchased this 2 yrs ago to replace an old gas chainsaw. 30 mins of use before battery needs to be charged. Takes over 4 hours to recharge for 15 minutes of use. You need a 24 hour charge to get the 30 minutes. Replacement batteries are overpriced. Don’t wast your money. This product is only good for small branches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this thing! I bought this a little over a month ago. Since then, I've used it several times and it never fails to work like a beast. I've used several different gas saws. This saw works as well, or better, than most of them. And then add in not having to mix oil and gas, it's a win-win!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 52 Trees down in the first weekend! I had a gas chainsaw and it was a pain to keep running. I bought this saw because we already had a 40V trimmer and auger and I was curious how a battery saw would hold up. 52 trees taken down and cleaned up in the first weekend. I kept the 3 batteries we had charging on rotation and just kept plugging away. Some of these trees were 60-80' cherry and walnut trees. At times the battery would get warm but for the most part it just kept cutting and cutting as fast as my help could drag the brush and logs away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easier than gas I'm impressed with this chainsaw - it worked great for a large project, and I loved how much easier it was to be able to set the saw down whenever and not worry about an engine killing when it idled. So much easier to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised Gutsy little saw for being battery powered. This is by no means a replacement for gas chainsaw that would be used regularly. I think it would be best for someone that has other Ryobi tools that use the same battery since this is a tool that will only get used occasionally. It is nice not to have to mess with gasoline and all the issues it creates in a saw because it sits around not being used most of the time by most small property owners. Now, if only they would come out with one that didn't need chain oil!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very impressed with this chainsaw!!! I bought the Ryobi 40 v, 18" chainsaw, blower, and 3 battery package after reading good reviews, and watching YouTube reviews. I must say I am very impressed. I recently had about 10 trees cut down and wanted a saw I didn't have to pull start. I have been using chainsaws for 45 years and this saw is about equal to my Stihl MS180 in cutting ability. It cut maple and ash easily. I did quite a few up pieces up to the 18" bar length and it cut through better than expected. About 30 cuts later my back told me to stop while the battery still had about half a charge. And the blower quickly cleared the woodchips off the driveway and other areas. Quite a duo, and with 3 batteries, plenty of cutting time is available. The only drawback is, if pushed too hard, the batteries can overheat and shutdown. Battery change solves that. Also, if the battery is hot when you go to charge it, it waits until the battery cools before it will charge. Not a major inconvenience but worth mentioning. All in all, very impressed with how far battery operated chainsaws have come, and Ryobi has been a very reliable brand for all the tools I use.
