Great when it works but poor service
When it works, it’s great. However….in the shop again for another switch replacement. At least it’s still under warranty. First repair was just over a year old and the switch failed. Home Depot did repairs then, it took 2 weeks. Home Depot no longer does Ryobi repair, had to take it to another shop, at least still in town. Switch is no longer variable speed, it’s full on or nothing, and it sometimes won’t shut off when I let o of the trigger. It’s been at the shop for almost 3 MONTHS. They can’t get the part and tell me they have problems getting in touch with Ryobi, on hold for hours and no return calls, I believe them because I have the same issue. It takes Ryobi weeks to respond to emails.
Ryobi told me it could take 90 days to authorize warranty repairs, not including waiting for parts, then told me it’s the supplier holding up repairs. That is absolutely ridiculous. The repair shop told me when the contract is up with Ryobi they will not renew because Ryobi is destroying the shop’s reputation. I saw piles of Ryobi and the Home Depot orange tools waiting. When they bail on Ryobi, the next closest facility will be over a hour away. Your warranty says repair or replace, I suggest you replace my tool, you obviously can’t fix it. Maybe I’ll be able to trim my fence line when the snow flies.

Easy to operate and restring
I bought 40v weed eater a month ago. As I age pull starting a weed eater was getting more difficult. I’m so glad I bought one. I have always been a big fan of Ryobi products.
