It does the job I bought it to do
The trimmer was the "extra" tool I just couldn't resist when I was purchasing a Ryobi blower. The only quibble I have with it is also a positive - at 26" the blade is a bit long for a lot of trimming, but on the occasions when the extra length is needed, it is great to have it. Thus far it's been used only a few times, but has been efficient and effective. Not having to mess with a cord is time saving and makes the work much easier.

Good but plan your job beforehand.
I purchased the trimmer several months ago due to a particular situation where large bushes needed control. The equipment was appropriate although its weight vs time of use, is not what I expected. I am six feet and weight 248 pounds in good health and felt the load was heavy after 30-45 minutes of constant use.

Great Unit
I was using a 20-30 year old 12 inch hedger that still worked but it was slow and my wife and I each cut an extension cord. This unit is so much faster and does a much better job.

only used it for a short period of time
I have only used it for a short period of time as that all it took. I bought this because the 2-stroke trimmer I have wouldn't start and I didn't have time to screw with it. The trimmer has good balance and it pretty light for its size and power, 8.9 lbs. It seems to have plenty of power; I am not sure I could tell the difference between the gas powered one and the Ryobi

Works great!
Bought this tool last week and trimmed my cedar hedge and bush hedge in an hour! Lots of power. No problem cutting a 1" branch. Easy to use, lightweight yet powerful. So nice not having a cord. Have recommended this tool to my neighbour already.
