Battery life no good
I purchased this item. Charged battery fully and went to work. Battery lasted about 15 minutes! Charged again and again 15 minutes. Placed battery on charge overnight lgot 10 minutes out of it, waste of money!!’

Disappointed
I bought this yesterday to replace an old electric blower. I am extremely disappointed in the short time the battery runsi used it some on turbo and got about 30 minutes run time and it took several hours for a full recharge. It takes several hours to clear my property of leaves with this blower it will take several days. I’ll need to buy at least 2 more batteries to get even a decent days work done.

bad battery
I just had to buy a new battery for my 4 year old mower, great! However, the new one, won't last more than 10 min. Not great. Is this a recurring issue with these newer batteries?

Love Ryobi Tools!
I own multiple Ryobi tools as well as many batteries. They always do the job! I actually had to recently get one replaced and the process was fantastic! Replacement arrived in just couple days. Great service!!!

Due to battery issues, gave up on the 40v line
I started out with this battery and a 40v string trimmer, blower and lawn mower to take care of the yard at my new house. My yard was small enough that I could get all the work done with 1 charge. After around 2 years, I had problems with the battery all of the sudden where it wouldn't charge, and said it was defective. I exchanged it, and had a similar problem with the 2nd one. I tried everything; cleaning the contacts, watching YouTube videos on how to "reset" or "jump" it, nothing. After going back to Home Depot, I was told to take it up with Ryobi. I reached out and didn't get a response. I sold all of my 40v equipment and went with 18v exclusively since my yard is small, and I use drills, drivers and other hand tools more often as someone who works in the Construction Industry. 40v just didn't seem reliable for me, and it was a lot more expensive and there were fewer deals and incentives to buy those tools. The 18v series is lighter in weight, I haven't had any battery issues at all, and there's a lot more variety, over 200% more tools. My situation may be an isolated incident, so I'd encourage any potential 40v buyers to try it for themselves and to take this review with a grain of salt. You'll see based on my other Ryobi reviews, my Social Media and YouTube presence, etc., I'm a HUGE Ryobi fan. If they release underwear, I'm buying it.

Poor quality control.
Battery will not hold a charge after only 1.5 years of infrequent use. A second battery has lasted 3 years. Poor consistency in quality control.
