Avoids frostbite
I bought this tool a while ago in anticipation of winter, having had it on my list since last winter when my wrists got sore from shaking heavy containers of ice melter. Today the first big winter storm is roaring through Pittsburgh and with temperatures dropping to 0 Farenheit I am happy to report that I was able to treat my large driveway and sidewalk before frostbite could set in. The hopper is bigger than what I could previously carry to shake back and forth, so there are less trips back and forth between the garage and the street. I can activate the switch using the weight of the product in the hopper, so there is very little stress on my finger - I just hold it and walk back and forth. The product is spread evenly too. My wrists and exposed skin are grateful.

Exactly What I Needed
I tried other type of handheld seed spreaders, and NO OTHER BRAND has surpassed my expectations. This is a valuable tool for EVERY household.

Handy addition
I had a similar one that took AA's. In addition to the rechargeable battery advantage, the Ryobi has greater power and larger hopper capacity. It's a great value for smaller lawns, spot treatments, and winter uses.

better than scotts wiz
had a scotts hand held spreader that took reg. batteries that corroded and stopped working havind a battery that snaps in when I need it is a better idea.

Good- one weak link
I own 2. Great. But is it a seed spreader or can you use it to spread anything.
I do the anything. Does good. DO NOT WASH— blow out with blower.
Weak link is trap door. Sticks. Keep a pocket knife to “ stick and slide closed”.
I use for everything.
One for seed. Other for everything else. I paid 38 and 44 bucks. Bare tool. Wait for sales.
Scott’s wizz a piece of junk. Broke 3 in one month. Took them back. “ Ryobi is the way” -( mandolorian, lol)

Quick and Easy Lawn Care
I purchased this spreader on a whim.
I was very impressed how well it spread the lawn fertilizer. I was able to see, where the fertilizer was spreading.
